BOOK REVIEW: Sensual Rhapsody, by David Russell

Sensual Rhapsody: Erotic poetry and artwork by David Russell

Sensual Rhapsody by David Russell:

Buy it at Amazon

A romantic collection of poems bordering on the side of erotica; it takes you on a journey, side stepping reality, yet lost in the words the voyage becomes understandable but only because you have traveled the experiences even if it was only in your mind.

It floats you and guides you while at times it distracts you but in the end you are brought back to reality, left knowing where you have been.  Using evocative words to plunge you deeper into the abyss of attraction and melding, carried by the wind and the surf as in, Love Boat:

The depths and heights clinched us up, down, bow, stern
Starboard, port hint of an eddy

Answering the wind pulling the waters to the air
Throwing up a slope to its absorbing depths

Allowing acceptance in the actions, ruled by anticipation, as excitement grows, as in, Lovers Undress:

You are so deep, so strong in love made thunderstorms;
You frightened all the others off yet drew me out;
Let me embrace my feminine in our unrobing

Submission? Domination?
Now those terms
Lose all pretence of meaning
in the flooding flames of total love

The photography/artwork in this book only lending ambiance to the words; not what I expected this being my first book read of erotic poetry but it turned out to be a nice read!!

Just something to think about - 'anticipation' as you go about your day!!
